Red Wings Betting Outlook
While the Detroit Red Wings have managed to keep things together, they still are right around the .500 mark.
Currently, Boston holds the final wildcard spot and stands 12 games over .500. After a 5-5 run, they are still 23-22-6 on the season and are fifth in the Atlantic Division.
Detroit is 10 points out of that final playoff spot. They’re currently priced at +2000 to make the playoffs in the NHL Playoff odds.
One of the best wins of the year? Rangers are now 16-4-3 at home. With the Wings road struggles, I wasn’t expecting it.

One of the bigger reasons why Detroit is hanging on so tight is their ability to win games at home. They have already won 15 on the season and have yet to lose ten in regulation. Oddly enough, they just won in New York against the Rangers.
So, with 31 games to go, Detroit must fend off Columbus and hop Boston in the East. Even though Alex Nedeljkovic and Thomas Greiss have been pretty good in net, they have to be that much better.

Neither goalie (average save percentage .905) has played like a Vezina Trophy candidate. However, Greiss has just given up four goals in the last two games and Nedeljkovic has been better in net too.
It is why the NHL odds are shortening a bit towards Detroit (from +235 to +210). Also, 81% of the betting percentage is on the Detroit moneyline and 86% ATS.

Avalanche Betting Outlook
A loss to Boston did not harm the Colorado Avalanche’s Stanley Cup odds. They began 2021-22 around +500 to win the Stanley Cup. Colorado currently is the favorite at +475.
During the middle of November, the Avalanche were close to +700. Colorado going 7-2-1 in this recent stretch has brought their number back to where they were in October.
— Colorado Avalanche (@Avalanche) February 19, 2022
They remain the most balanced team in the league. Their offense boosts their defense as they average 3.92 goals a game while allowing 2.84 a contest. The Avalanche have five players with 48 or more points (led by Nazem Kadri’s 63 points).

Avalanche vs Red Wings Pick
The Avalanche have won seven straight games over the Red Wings and have covered in five of those contests. Colorado was favored in six of the last previous seven tilts. This one makes that seven of eight.
So the Avalanche are looking over their shoulder a bit for the best record in the league. Carolina and Florida are right in the mix. Colorado sports one of the better road records at 15-7-2. They have won seven of their last eight away from Denver.
As for the Red Wings, every game is becoming a must win. With Columbus right behind them and Boston so far ahead, Detroit has to start stringing together more victories in a row. Doing that against the Avalanche may be too tall of a task, even with Dylan Larkin and company.
Take the Avalanche in regulation.
