Denver Nuggets Betting Analysis

As usual, Nikola Jokic was the story in the Nuggets’ latest victory over the Warriors. The reigning MVP racked up his second triple-double in as many nights, posting an absurd stat line of 32 points, 15 rebounds and 13 assists.

It was his league-high 18th triple-double of the season, and his 11th in the past 23 games. Over his past two outings, he’s poured in 78 points, while grabbing 27 rebounds and dishing out 24 assists.

The victory was Denver’s 11th in its past 13 games, moving them 13 games over .500 for the first time all season. Both teams shot over 51% from the field, while the Nuggets owned a 66-52 advantage in the paint. They committed five fewer turnovers and earned 18 more trips to the free-throw line.

Despite the win, the game was much closer than most would have expected. Golden State was missing three-fifths of its starting lineup, as Steph Curry, Klay Thompson and Andrew Wiggins were all rested. The Warriors were also missing Andrew Iguodala and Gary Payton Jr. due to injury.

Denver will take wins any way they can get them however, as the Nuggets are in the midst of a brutal stretch. Thursday will mark their fourth game in five nights, as they also had a late tip-off in Sacramento on Wednesday.

Golden State Warriors Betting Analysis

Curry, Thompson and Wiggins were all back in the Golden State lineup on Tuesday, for a 112-97 win over the LA Clippers. Thomson splashed 20 points, playing a season-high 34 minutes, while Curry chipped in 15 points and 5 dimes.

The victory was just the second for the Warriors in their past nine games. Golden State has been battling injury issues all year, and won’t have Iguodala or Payton again for Thursday’s matchup. Draymond Green remains out, while Otto Porter Jr. will miss the game as well.

Golden State’s funk has dropped them into third place in the West, half a game behind Memphis. They’re 0-3 versus the Nuggets this season, and like Denver are in the midst of a brutal scheduling stretch. Thursday will mark their fourth game in six nights. They’ll have a day off on Friday, before a date with defending champion Milwaukee on Saturday.

Warriors vs Nuggets Pick

Fatigue is going to be a factor in this game. Both teams are dealing with tired legs and there’s a strong chance that will lead to a lazy effort, especially on defense.

Fatigue and injury are a big reason why Golden State’s defense has suffered lately, as they’re yielding an average of 120.6 points per game over their last five contests. Nine of their past 11 outings have gone over the total, including each of the last two meetings versus Denver.

The Nuggets on the other hand, have seen six of their past nine games fly over the total, while the over is 18-12-1 in their home contests this season.

Pick: Over 220.5 (-110)
