Odds as of 6:30 am ET, April 14th.
Above you can see the odds for home runs, one or two-plus hits, as well as pitcher strikeouts for some of today’s MLB games.
Mize Strikeout Odds
The first bet to target is under 3.5 strikeouts for Detroit’s Casey Mize against KC. Sure, the total seems low but it’s a number that Mize routinely has trouble exceeding.
He managed just two strikeouts in his season debut over five innings against the White Sox, and dating back to last season he’s failed to reach four k’s in five of his past six starts. Mize faced the Royals four times in 2021, exceeding three strikeouts just once.
Casey Mize needs to miss more bats this season, because he played with fire a lot as a rookie. Today was another example of how that can go wrong.
— Derick Hutchinson (@Derick_Hutch) April 9, 2022
Throughout his career, Mize has produced just a 9.5% swinging strike rate and a 16.7% called strike rate. It’s tough to punch out many batters with numbers like that. Also working against him is the fact that at least early on, the Royals don’t strikeout. They’ve whiffed only 28 times through five games so far, the second lowest mark in baseball.
Pick: Casey Mize Under 3.5 Strikeouts (+100)

Judge Continues Home Run Party
The Blue Jays and Yankees combined for six home runs on Wednesday. One of those was smacked by Aaron Judge, and he’s in a good spot to go yard again on Thursday.

Judge, who recently turned down a contract extension worth $230 million, went deep for the first time last night and has torn the cover off the ball against Toronto starter Kevin Gausman throughout his career.
Judge is 8-for-17 (.471) lifetime against the Jays righty, with 3 home runs and 6 RBI. He’s been a much better power hitter at home, where they’ll play tonight, than on the road, posting a career .595 slugging percentage at Yankee Stadium compared to a .509 mark away from home.
Gausman typically does a good job of keeping the ball in the yard except when he’s facing New York. He’s surrendered 13 home runs to the Yankees over his career, the second most he’s allowed against any opponent.
Pick: Aaron Judge Home Run (+275)
