Leeds United vs Southampton Prediction

Leeds’ terrible run of form since Christmas signaled the end of Marcelo Bielsa’s reign as their coach but two wins in their last two games – against Norwich and Wolves – have halted what had become a worrying slide down the table. New coach Jesse Marsch had a difficult first few games but has now started to make an impact, helped by some key players returning from injury.

Southampton, after enjoying a generally successful season, have lost their last three – each one a home game. While the loss against Man City was expected, defeats by Watford and Newcastle were definitely not, and manager Ralph Hassenhuttl must now ensure his side doesn’t end the season with a whimper.

The momentum here is very much with Leeds, although the international break may have diluted this a little. For Southampton, the break came at a good time and in the circumstances, they may find an away game to their liking. At +190, the value here is with the away win.

Picks: Southampton to win (+185)

Manchester United vs Leicester City Prediction

United’s chances of making the top four hang by a thread after an up-and-down season that has seen a change in their manager’s seat – Ralf Rangnick replacing Ole Gunnar Solskjaer on an interim basis until the end of the season. However, a win against Tottenham in their final game before the international break has at least given the Red Devils hope of Champions League soccer next season.

Brendan Rodgers’ Foxes have also had a disappointing season. After narrowly missing out on Champions League soccer in each of the last three campaigns, this time around they find themselves in mid-table with little chance of a place in Europe. This has not been helped by a long-term injury to veteran striker Jamie Vardy.

The question here is can Leicester make the most of United’s difficulties. Unfortunately, an away record that reads 3-3-7 shows they have not enjoyed their road trips this term and there are few signs this will improve at Old Trafford. A 50% return on your stake for a United win looks reasonable value.

Pick: Man Utd to win (-195)

West Ham United vs Everton Prediction

For most of the season, the Hammers have been on the edge of the battle for Champions League places but two defeats in their last three have seen them drop to seventh place. They now face an uphill task in their remaining eight games to reel in Arsenal, Man Utd and Tottenham, all of whom are between them and fourth place.

For Everton, it’s been a disastrous season and despite sacking Rafa Benitez and replacing him with Frank Lampard, they still sit just one place and three points above the relegation zone. The Toffees did snatch a win last time out at home to Newcastle though and it remains a squad certainly not lacking in quality, but they still have work to do to avoid the drop.

West Ham’s form is stuttering at the worst possible time and they are finding it hard to string wins together. As a result, this may not be the worst time to visit the London Stadium and so I consider the Everton win a decent bet. At +370, there is value in the away win.

Pick: Everton to win (+370)
