Nikola Jokic and the Denver Nuggets will be looking for their third-straight NBA win on Wednesday night as they travel to the Bay Area to take on the Golden State Warriors. The tip-off is scheduled for 7:30 PM EST at The Chase Center.

The Nuggets are coming off a victory over the lowly Orlando Magic at home, while the Dubs were surprisingly beaten by the depleted Los Angeles Clippers on Monday night.

This will be the second meeting of the campaign between Denver and Golden State, with Nikola Jokic and Co. notching an 89-86 win in December at home.

Nuggets vs Warriors Odds

Team Spread Moneyline Total Points
Denver Nuggets +5.5 (-110) +190 Ov 224 (-110)
Golden State Warriors -5.5 (-110) -230 Un 224 (-110)

The Warriors are a 5.5-point home favorite here but they’ve failed to cover in four games in a row.

Nuggets Looking to Keep Streak Going

Denver is really playing well lately, winning four of their last five contests. During that span, they’ve blown out the Nets and Knicks by a total of 37 points. Nikola Jokic continues to carry the load for the Nuggets, who are still without Jamal Murray and Michael Porter Jr. The reigning MVP is averaging 25.8 points, 13.7 rebounds, and 7.9 assists this season and once again led the way on Valentine’s day against Orlando.

The Joker went for a team-high 36 points, 15 boards, and seven dimes in the win, but he also got a lot of offensive support. The entire first unit had at least 10 points, with a total of six players finishing in double-digits. Denver also shot the ball extremely well overall, draining 40% of their triples, 91% of their free throws, and posting a 47% clip from the field.

While the Nuggets did enjoy a very good night from a shooting standpoint, they were sloppy with the rock, committing a total of 22 turnovers. Orlando translated those mistakes into 29 points, which certainly kept them in this contest. Denver will need to take much better care of the basketball against the Warriors who have more than enough firepower to punish them.

Dubs in a Rut

Golden State is still one of the best teams in the Association at 42-16, but they’ve hit a cold spell across the last week. The Warriors have won just two of their previous five games, losing to the Jazz, Knicks, and most recently, the Clippers.

Steve Kerr’s squad was relatively efficient when it came to shooting the ball, but they were completely bodied inside by Los Angeles in the paint, getting outscored 54-40. Center Kevon Looney had a measly seven points and three boards, while Klay Thompson also finished in single-digits. Steph Curry was about the only bright spot offensively as he dropped 33 points while going a ridiculous 8 for 13 from beyond the arc.

The Dubs were going head to head with the Clips in the first half until Ty Lue’s group dominated Golden State in the final two periods, leading by as many as 25 at one point. The Warriors were downright poor defensively, with LA’s entire starting lineup scoring 87 of the team’s 119 points on the night. On a more positive note though they’re a mile better at home, going 26-5 in 2021/22. That’s a great sign heading into Wednesday’s matchup.

Nuggets vs Warriors Prediction

Denver is rolling, but I have a hard time believing the Warriors are going to come out flat again, especially at the Chase Center in front of Dub Nation. However, with the spread at 5.5, I do think the Nuggets will make it a little bit closer. That being said, take the visitors for an ATS victory and Golden State on the moneyline.

Pick: Nuggets ATS +5.5 (-110), Warriors moneyline (-230)
