Odds as of February 9th at FanDuel Sportsbook

Curry and DeMar DeRozan have both slid down the board recently in the NBA MVP odds, but both are set for big nights according to their props at the sportsbooks. Could they get themselves back in to the race?

Steph Dropping Dimes to Go Over Assist Total

We mostly know Steph Curry as a cold-blooded scorer, whether he’s driving to the hoop or draining countless triples. But since Draymond Green has been out for the Golden State Warriors, Steph has had to take on more of a playmaking role. He’s averaging 6.4 assists on the season and continues to facilitate at a high level on a nightly basis.

In fact, Curry has hit the over in dimes in eight of his last 10 games, even dishing out 10 of them on Monday in a win over the OKC Thunder. While he may be in a huge shooting slump right now, you can definitely count on Steph getting his teammates involved with elite passing. Given the trends, the over offers huge value here, especially at +114.

  • Pick: Stephen Curry Over 6.5 Assists (+114)

DeRozan Puts Up Points on Charlotte

Just about no one can slow down DeMar DeRozan this season, no matter how good their defense is. The Bulls star is truly putting together an MVP campaign, averaging an impressive 27.2 points, 5.2 rebounds, and 5.1 assists.

Across the last two games, DeRozan dropped 38 on the NBA-best Phoenix Suns then also showed out for 45 against a very solid Philadelphia 76ers team. He’s also hit the over in points in three in a row, also going for 31 points on February 4th in Indiana.

Obviously, 28.5 is rather steep. But DeRozan has proven in 2021-22 that he can put up 30+ on any given night. The last time he played Charlotte, the veteran scored 28 points. But given his hot hand at the moment, it’s a pretty good bet to say he’ll have another huge performance after tearing apart a couple of good defenses.

  • Pick: DeMar DeRozan Over 28.5 Points (-118)
